Irish Potatoes A Quick Cure for Ulcer

 A dietician at the Wuse General Hospital advises ulcer patients on a fast and very quick cure;  this he said in an interactive session that taking Irish potato juice with original honey was effective for the treatment of ulcer.

Hajiya Jummai Abdul said that Irish potato juice contained amino acid, a protein that aided the healing of wounds.

The dietician also said that ulcer patients needed a blind diet; a diet without spices or condiments.

According to Wikipedia, an online dictionary, ulcer is a break in bodily membrane that hinders the organ from continuing its normal functions. “An ulcer patient needs a blind diet; a diet that does not have spices, condiments; and a diet that it’s not strong, it’s not heavy and it’s not hard. “We use Irish potatoes in particular; you can boil it, you can blend it, you can do porridge with it and it’s very good for an ulcer patient.

“Another way in using Irish potatoes is after peeling off the back, great it; sieve the juice from the potato, it’s that sieved juice, you will just add tea spoon of honey;  real honey unto the juice and take it first thing in the morning and last thing before dinner.
“It cures ulcer seriously, because that juicing water has amino acid and that amino acid is a healing power that it will up the wound."

He advised ulcer patients to avoid acidic food or drink as well as fried things, adding that such food could endanger their health condition.

“When you take acidic food; anything spicy and condiments like garlic, pepper, curry, there will be a burning sensation, which causes pain.

“You know the place is already an open wound; it will be very painful, so there are certain things that an ulcer patient should avoid eating,” she noted.

She also said that intake of any gaseous food like cucumber, onion, could affect the patient, adding: “it makes the stomach have division and you still have pain on the sore“.
Abdul, therefore, urged ulcer patients to contact doctors or dieticians for proper management of their conditions.
