Okocha is a dual Turkish-Nigerian citizen, having acquired Turkish citizenship as "Muhammet Yavuz" while playing for Süper Lig team Fenerbahçe.
The former Nigeria captain, who played for the Super Eagles from 1993 till 2006, was part of the highly regarded golden era of Nigerian football.
He won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1994, played in the country's first World Cup, won an Olympic gold medal in 1996 and was named the best player at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2004.
