2013 in Retrospect...

2013 in Retrospect
Just like yesterday, we all celebrated the birth of the New Year, 2013. Indeed indeed it has come and is going. It came, saw but, has been conquered. Many events took place in 2013. Some, painful, others interestingly hilarious. Yet some of these are indescribable...in summary experiences are replete to adequately describe graphically the events of the year, 2013.

Some of us saw our friends Bukky Ozordinobi, Sixtus Merlin Nnamdi, Henry...and others too numerous to mention get married, Congratulations. Please, y'all should tell Nosa to follow suit abeg.
While some of us were bestman and chief bridesmaid so many times in the year that we began to wonder if that's another type of ministry. Many girls caught more than 20 bouquets in 2013 alone...dem dey use am cook soup?

Some had their girlfriends stolen and so went ahead to steal other's own too (na wa oh). I'm a victim I know. Others saw their girlfriends leave them (like seriously), for their best friends...some others had their boyfriends abandon them for their younger sisters. And to those of you who heard about your fiancee's wedding from your neighbour. One word for you..."take heart, God still dey." Just resolve to hold on to Him better in 2014.

Yet some of my friends delivered beautiful babies, Omotara, Chioma Iwunze, Patience Endy Ukpo, and a host of others too numerous to mention. Even though one of my friends lost their baby in November, 6months after her birth...God'll give you double in 2014 for your trouble Oga, and Madam John!

No doubt, there were sad experiences, and tragedies in 2013. The loss of hundreds of lives in the Northern part of the country; deaths that should not have been. Deaths that in my own opinion, were avoidable. Waste of the precious lives; of our brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles. Fathers and even mothers.
Most of us lost dear friends. Some colleagues and others even lost perceived enemies...*winks*. Regardless of whom or what it is that we lost, I say that, "May the souls of all the departed that we lost in 2013 rest in peace." Can I hear an amen?

No matter what experiences we had we still cant deny the fact that we indeed had numerous other reasons to laugh and be grateful to God almighty for his mercies. it was in 2013 that that the whole of Nigeria realized we all have an "Oga at the top". (I nor talk oh), and for a long while we all forgot about our sorrows and that indeed gave us something to laugh about...and some even made money from the issue by selling T-shirts with the inscription on them.

It was also in the year we heard about, and even saw the "Hollywood action movies", in our house of assemblies. Port Harcourt House of Assembly, particularly is of note. It was there, our "not so honourable" members were played baseball; their colleague's heads serving as bats, while the "Mace" and bottles served as bats...and weapons of mass destruction flying in the air with reckless abandon.

Let's not even go into the kind of "Englishes" that were spoken, constructed, and fabricated by notable members of the society...Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon, always leading the pack in this regard. As well as our...fill in the blanks.

Lastly, this was also the year where majority of our leaders took their WAEC examinations again especiually in English language, "letter writing"...those scripts are yet to be marked.
Choi! it have do.

I want to use this medium to thank all my friends, fans, colleagues, enemies(tongue out), lost friends, gained friends, those owing me money and those who after my business with me reneged on the agreement to pay me; God dey look una for 3D. It was a great pleasure knowing you all, and I pray that we'll do better businesses, and that you'll pay me in 2014 in Jesus name. Amen!

Happy New Year, to you all!!!
Happy New Year
